Review: Nordic Ware Detailed Decorating Pen

I love baking – cookies, cakes, pies, and all that. I don’t really spend enough time in the kitchen to consider myself a baker. As much as I enjoy it, it’s an occasional hobby. However, I received the
Nordic Ware Detailed Decorating Pen as an early Christmas gift from my mother and I really loved it.

Disclaimer: These pictures are from the Williams-Sonoma website – I’m good, but not THAT good.

Making and decorating Christmas cookies is one of my favorite traditions. Even without any special tools, I like to get creative with recipes and decorating. I was still nervous to try this because I assumed I would fail the first couple of times and get discouraged. NOPE! It made it so easy to work with that I couldn’t make myself stop decorating.

Here are the things that are great about it: it’s easy to use and easy to clean. I really have no complaints, other than the fact that my hand got sore after icing about a hundred cookies. It comes with five different tips, but I think the size is universal in case you have or want to purchase some others. It comes with two different sized piping tips, two stars and a leaf tip as well as 12 sturdy decorating bags. I went through the bags pretty quickly as they can only be used once before they start to tear.

Here are my completed cookies…like I said, I made a ton because I was having so much fun.
